“My journey as an artist is deeply intertwined with my experiences as a retired Navy Chief Torpedoman. I bear witness to the powerful healing effects of art practice and the transformative changes it can bring to veterans, their families, and the broader community. The challenges and triumphs of my military service have profoundly shaped my artistic perspective. Now, living and working in the vibrant San Diego County of Southern California, I draw inspiration from both my service and the natural beauty around me, grounding my work in resilience and hope. Through my vibrant mixed-media creations, I invite viewers to transcend their challenges and embrace transformative journeys.
In my current art practice, I utilize dynamic colors, textures, and layering techniques to explore themes of trauma, identity, community, and connection. Each piece sparks conversation, aiming to break down societal labels and encourage viewers to engage in dialogue about healing and personal growth. I strive to make the painting process accessible and inclusive by offering classes tailored to every skill level.
I am honored to be an award-winning artist and currently serve as the Vice President of Programs for the Escondido Art Association. My work has been exhibited at various venues, including the Poway Center for the Performing Arts, numerous community art events, and in particular the Honor Foundation. I invite you to explore my portfolio and join me in celebrating the healing power of art. Your engagement, whether through visiting my website or following me on social media, is a valuable part of this celebration.”
