This mural is called “Rolling on a Memory” created by Stevie O’Dell, a local known tattoo artist, and Zane Kingcade, a local mural artist. They are both locals and were raised in Escondido. This mural represents an iconic local skating rink called Ups and Downs that was torn down years ago. Ups and Downs was a beloved place for kids to go to on the weekends with friends or during the week with their families after doing homework. The roller rink is truly missed – it created such great memories for the community that even till this day it’s still talked about. Stevie and Zane decided to put their creative minds to the test and created something not only for themselves, but for the community as well . Cheers to the memories!! One day they hope Escondido will acquire another skating rink that will keep everyone’s memories rolling and show the community what real fun is all about!!
