What I’m hoping, is that people become aware – they listen, read, watch videos, and understand what is going on with this planet we live on, called Earth. We have nowhere else to go. We all can’t do everything– but all of us can do something, even if it’s being aware and helping other people be aware. Love one another and love mother earth; she’s all we have. Note: There is a word that I have embedded in the ice. When you find it, try not to share with others – let them feel the joy in finding it.
Valorie loves the enriching value that art brings to life. She graduated from San Diego State University with a major in Social Science, emphasis – Multicultural Studies and a minor in Art. Her career began as an educator, followed by marketing/public relations and development/fundraising for major non-profit organizations. She enjoyed 10 years as the owner/innkeeper of a Bed and Breakfast, Villa De Valor, in Julian. Portraits, specifically pencil
drawings, are her forte. Valorie began drawing the “elders” as she calls them; individuals with the wisdom of the world contained in their weathered, wrinkled features, focusing on their beautiful eyes. The photograph-like drawings capture the past in their eyes. She studied art, but never took a pencil drawing class or studied human face portraits. She’s believes her talent is innate. Valorie has branched-off into other mediums but continues to come back to portraits. She is amazed and thankful for her abilities. She recently was encouraged to go outside of her comfort zone, and this mural Earth took her out. Painting and large-scale are both out of her
norm. Visit her website to view her works and learn about her journey. Commissioned work is welcomed.
