This painting is meant to refresh the basic substances of “as American as Apple Pie” and the patriotism that is in our souls. We all need to Back the Blue or America will be in tatters. These men and women are human, they engage the harsher side of life, and they are “Code Zero,” that is, police under attack. 

Here is an explanation of some of the elements of my design:

The bottom of the flag is in tatters to show what will happen if we don’t back the blue.

The title is meant to be in red, to represent the spilled vital force from our protectors, their blood.

The three officers typify a trinity recognized around the world.

I was born in the land of the original chicken wing, also known as Buffalo, New York.  I am a self-taught artist who is “Peace Love Woodstock,” even though I was caught by my dad when I was leaving to go to the historic concert.
