This mural speaks to my heart.  It was inspired by watching our grandkids Mykl and Melody interact with the monarch butterflies in our back yard. I truly enjoy creating art, while seeing how it continues to evolve with each of the experiences in my life. My art journey continues.

I am a local self-taught artist, and I have been drawing since I was a little girl.  Art has always been my passion.  In my earlier years, I primarily sketched in black and white pencils, and later in colored pencils.  I loved drawing portraits and fashion illustrations.  In college, I studied commercial art for a few years, and also obtained a Bachelors in Business Management. 

I raised three beautiful children and worked for the Navy for 38 ½ years. Upon retiring three years ago, I’ve had the joy of babysitting our grandkids. Having more time for my art, I enjoy experimenting with acrylics.  I fell in love with the vibrant colors, which give such life to my art.
