SekohOne https://escoalleyart.com/sekoh/ Mon, 25 Oct 2021 02:53:55 +0000 https://escoalleyart.com/?p=1622 My painting represents something that I try to teach my daughter everyday which is to
“Be like a Flamingo, Be Balanced, Wade into Life, Stand Tall and ALWAYS STANDOUT.” On every situation she encounters through out life.

On a personal level painting this piece reminded me that no matter the situation wether is good or bad we have a choice to make the best out of it while adding a touch of color (life) to a piece that’s going to stand tall and will Always StandOut!

I hope when people look at this painting, they are reminded that color possesses a language without words and you as an individual can also be like the flamingo standing tall with full of life.

Raised in the vibrant coastal town of Oceanside, I am an artist who has been immersed in the world of creativity for as long as I can remember. My journey through art has been a passionate exploration, with a particular fondness for urban and graffiti art, where adrenaline meets the canvas.

My days are consumed by a harmonious blend of work and artistry. Whether it’s putting in the hours at my day job or spending countless moments sketching, customizing, and designing, art is the heartbeat of my existence. I find immense joy in breathing life and color into seemingly mundane canvases, turning them into captivating works of expression.

What drives me as an artist is the relentless pursuit of growth and evolution. I thrive on the challenge of pushing my artistic boundaries and embracing various mediums. Each creation is an opportunity to explore new horizons and incorporate fresh elements into my artistry.

As I continue my artistic journey, I invite you to join me on this exhilarating ride through my world, where passion and creativity converge to create a visual symphony that tells a story all its own. Welcome to my canvas, where imagination knows no bounds.

This mural is collaborative and unique. Teacher David Mackintosh made a casting call to former students from 4th or 5th grade who showed incredible talent and creativity. The students, now in high school (and one older), were directed by mural artist Spramani Elaun. The key feature of Spramani’s murals is to teach young artists how murals are conceptually created by collaboration, through phases of planning, while educating students on acrylic painting.

Foreground – Beautiful, colorful characters everywhere reflect the vast diversity of people around the world. Distinct bodies have heads of flowers from different countries, in a variety of body sizes, shapes, and skin tones. These distinctive characters represent acceptance of all.

Midground – Hands united from all over the world, inspiring love and peace. The land and hills with fountain represent a local Escondido landmark.

Background – Distant clouds with faces showing the sadness of judgement and the happiness of accepted people

Juan Beaz https://escoalleyart.com/juan-beaz/ Mon, 25 Oct 2021 02:52:29 +0000 https://escoalleyart.com/?p=1617 I wanted to create a piece that would embody a type of communion, something that could closely resemble the ritual of giving and receiving; the personal connection of two. My hopes for the piece is not to convey a message, but rather for people to interpret it in their most personal way.

Claire Christine Sargenti https://escoalleyart.com/clair-christine-sargenti/ Mon, 25 Oct 2021 02:52:05 +0000 https://escoalleyart.com/?p=1615 The inspiration is from my grandchildren’s art which is simple, bold and colorful!

I usually go into a meditative state and see what comes into my mind. Initially a star came to me but then it changed into bright yellow (my grandsons favorite color); so, I walked out to the view of the hilly skyline near my house, made a quick sketch and created my piece from it showing a sun instead of a star.

I paint & create for fun and I love color so I guess the word “playful” comes to mind.

“I’m a bit of a Nomad Artist who grew up in the UK and spent a couple of years in Norway before moving to Albuquerque, San Diego, Pasadena and then settling in Seattle. Now I’ve returned to Southern California to paint and create my experiences of traveling the world and exploring other fascinating cultures. I love color and patterns and using my imagination to create my art. I use all kinds of medium but mostly acrylics and lots of intuition.”

Xavier Dionne https://escoalleyart.com/xavier-dionne/ Mon, 25 Oct 2021 02:51:45 +0000 https://escoalleyart.com/?p=1613 I chose to paint this piece to speak about staying healthy, finding what makes you happy and to keep practicing kindness. The center of the mural shows two individuals hugging and showing love. What surrounds them matters and plays a role in creating a life with love. The “Somebody to love” mural is my first mural. I feel happy. I have been given an opportunity and I’ve taken on the challenges. I have learned so much along the process. I am grateful. I sometimes struggle expressing myself. My autism and severe speech delay create daily challenges, but art brings expression, hope and play into my life. I hope it brings joy to you. Somebody to love starts inside of us. I hope for good health, more play time and love to you.

Virginia Holt https://escoalleyart.com/virginia-holt/ Mon, 25 Oct 2021 02:51:12 +0000 https://escoalleyart.com/?p=1611 My painting is about Himalayan Blue Bamboo. About 20 years ago I saw a photo of different blue plants and I was fascinated by the Himalayan Blue Bamboo and the Tibetan Blue poppy. Ever since I have always wanted to create a painting of the amazing Blue Bamboo. I have seen bamboo grow on the island of Maui up to a height of 2 or 3 stories high. I chose to paint this because Bamboo is not only beautiful, it is a very beneficial plant for the health of our planet and the Universe. Like a tree it takes carbon monoxide out of the air and produces oxygen. It is an amazing sustainable plant that is very strong and grows faster than a tree. It can be used to make durable flooring, clothing and utensils such as drinking straws and more. In Asia it is used for scaffolding during building construction.

Blondy (Rhiannon Rieke) https://escoalleyart.com/blondy-rhiannon-rieke/ Mon, 25 Oct 2021 02:43:20 +0000 https://escoalleyart.com/?p=1609 Birds of paradise are one of my favorite flowers. I love the contrast of colors.

This piece signifies a lot of growth that I’ve done since I had my daughter who is now four.

For me the plant and the painting conveys a message that everyone can grow and thrive in the right environment with the right people. If you are nurtured and loved anything can happen.

Out of everything I have painted this is my daughter’s favorite.

Martita Foss https://escoalleyart.com/martita-foss/ Mon, 25 Oct 2021 02:40:15 +0000 https://escoalleyart.com/?p=1606 I have a love affair with trees and wanted to share my passion for trees by creating this piece.

With my painting I want to raise awareness of the importance of community engagement, and the rich diversity that Escondido offers. As we “Come Together”, like trees, we grow stronger together.

Art is for all. I create with no expectations. If people can connect with my art, then that is amazing.

For me, the essence of creating and sharing the arts in my community of Escondido is part of my job description. Many of us artists feel compelled to create and celebrate the richness of diversity.

Artists are an essential part of our world.

Esco Art Alley project brought beauty to a most unlikely section of Escondido – an alley. It brought a group of local Artists together for this project, and has created a body of work that is a gift to our city. This coming together benefits our community by creating an art destination for the public to come and visit. This is the beauty of art. When we support the arts, the arts support all surrounding businesses and organizations within their respective communities.

Bruce Heimbach https://escoalleyart.com/bruce-heinbech/ Mon, 25 Oct 2021 02:39:41 +0000 https://escoalleyart.com/?p=1605 In my ‘past life’, I studied architecture and took art classes. I was an architect. With architecture, I had to collect materials and many tools to convey my thoughts in a visual way. The camera, for me, was the best tool to use. The camera captured – ‘the moment’, be that sports, or history, or local towns and buildings, or landscapes and/or everything in between. I loved Kodachrome slides and monochrome Kodak film.

I collect photographs from the hikes I take, especially around the southwest, the deserts and National Parks. For my mural, I chose one photograph I took nine years ago in Page, AZ in Antelope Canyon. I have vivid memories of my hike there in the slot canyon . It was unbelievable. I wanted to remember it and that’s why I use the camera – to reinforce my memory. I transferred what I saw and captured in the camera onto a hard surface and then enlarged it onto the plywood panels using acrylic paint. I chose to render it in a graphic design style or an abstraction.

I am a Stroke Survivor, evolving as a (simple intermediate) artist. I have aphasia from my stroke, a condition that affects my speech. After my stroke, nearly six years ago, it first took seven or eight months to fully understand my ‘condition’ and to ‘start-over’. It took a few more months, to collect my thoughts and my tools to start my ‘new life’. Now, I’m using my new Mantra: “Enjoy life visually, less verbally”, and practice it. I’m trying to ‘walk the walk’, because I can’t ‘talk the talk’.
